Currency
Armenian Dram (AMD) is the official Armenian currency. There are banknotes 100 000, 50 000, 20 000, 10 000, 5 000, 2000 and 1000 AMD and coins 500, 200, 100, 50, 20 and 10 AMD. Banks, hotels, restaurants and shops accept Visa, Master and often American Express cards. Russian MIR cards are also accepted, but you should check in each definite case. You are not allowed to pay in cash in foreign currency. All banks make currency exchange, as well as there are many exchange points and ATM machines (ATM machines give only local currency). The current (28.06.2023) exchange rates are 1 EUR = 423 AMD, 1 USD = 387 AMD, 1 GBP = 492 AMD, 1 RUB = 4.55 AMD, however they may slightly change by the period of the Symposium. You can check the exchange rates at http://www.rates.am/en/.

Electric plugs in Armenia are like European ones (with two round pins). Both thin (Southern Europe) and thick (Northern Europe) ones are in use. Standard voltage in Armenia is 220V (AC) and the frequency is 50Hz.
